Artist Statement

Known as the Greek God of sunlight, son of Zeus, the averter of evil and the archetype of the intellectual, I found these images, with a natural red sun blocked out by wildfire during a 100 year pandemic, to be the perfect representation of the paradox of intellect. We can reach space and capture the stars but we cannot see the earth enough to heal her as she burns beneath our feet. A sign of the times, sunlight cannot break through, but we know it is there, if we can first clean the sky.
